Shamrock was founded in 1981 by John P. Gallagher and has been a Gallagher family business ever since. Today it’s run by the second generation — Jackie Gallagher Scoby and John J. Gallagher — who both grew up in the business and spent years working alongside their father before stepping into ownership. John P. remains a trusted advisor; the craft, the standards, and the warranty are unchanged.

Jackie Gallagher Scoby
Jackie runs the business side of Shamrock. When you call our number, it’s usually her voice you’ll hear on the other end of the line. She’s behind the keyboard responding to emails, scheduling estimates and crews, handling the paperwork, and keeping everything moving so the field team can focus on the work.
John J. Gallagher
John J. is the handshake after he walks your property. He runs the field side — diagnosing the job, writing the estimate, and keeping the Shamrock crew moving from site to site. If you’re meeting someone at your house in a Shamrock shirt with a clipboard, it’s him.

Shamrock at a Glance
John P. Gallagher
John learned the craft of tuckpointing as a teenager, working alongside his father — James “Big Jim” Gallagher, an Irish immigrant who encouraged his son’s entrepreneurial streak. After graduating Loras College, he founded Shamrock Tuckpointing in 1981, naming it after the Irish heritage his father brought to Chicago.
For more than four decades he built the reputation Shamrock carries today — one honest estimate, one careful job, one five-year warranty at a time. He’s still the first call we make on the jobs that need a second opinion.
